If you can read this, it’s because a teacher taught you to read.
If you can understand what I’m writing, it’s because a teacher taught you how to engage with concepts.
If you’re able to order groceries or figure out your monthly mortgage payments or engage with critical thinking about politics, it’s because somewhere along the line teachers have taught you those skills.
There is almost no facet of our lives that hasn’t been impacted by the women and men who put in long hours to ensure that we have the learning skills necessary to manage our way through life.

Kudos to all of you teachers for doing the heroic, sacred work of raising our children to read, think, imagine, create, build, add, subtract, speak, act, sing, engage with ideas, in the hope of raising generations of people who will live good, compassionate, productive lives.
